David Tuch, PhD • Chairman and CEO
Dr. David Tuch is the Founder and CEO of Lightpoint Medical. He has more than a decade of experience in the medical imaging and pharmaceutical sectors. Previously, he was Head of Research Alliances at GE Healthcare and Head of Clinical Imaging at Novartis. Before joining industry, Dr. Tuch served on the faculty of Harvard Medical School and Massachusetts General Hospital, Department of Radiology. Dr. Tuch holds a PhD from MIT and Harvard Medical School, and a BA from the University of Chicago.
David Ford, MBA • Non-Executive Director
Mr Ford has more than 20 years experience in the medical device industry including product and license management, strategic planning, managing change, systems integration, sales and marketing, research and development, and personnel development. Formerly the Executive Director of BSI Group, he was responsible for the worldwide Healthcare and Testing activity for the British Standards Institution. During David’s tenure, BSI became the leading certification and accreditation body to the global healthcare industry incorporating two notified bodies in support of the European Medical Devices Directive. David is currently CEO at Ingenica Solutions and a Non-Executive Director at NHS TrusTECH. David has represented the United Kingdom at the World Health Organization, the FDA and the European Commission in developing policy for medical devices and medical device regulation. David was trained at St. Mary’s Hospital Medical School, London and at Brunel University, and holds an MBA from INSEAD.
Nadim Yared • Non-Executive Director
Nadim Yared is the President and Chief Executive Officer of CVRx. Mr. Yared had previously served as Vice President and General Manager of Medtronic Navigation, the leading supplier of integrated image-guided surgery products in the world, from 2002 – 2006. He also worked at GE Medical for 10-years, where he had been Vice President of Global Marketing for the OEC Medical Systems and Vice President and General Manager of GE’s European X-ray business based in Paris. Mr. Yared has an engineering degree from Ecole Nationale Supérieure des Télécommunications, and an MBA from INSEAD, France. Mr. Yared is a member of the Board of Directors for AdvaMed, MDIC, and CVRx®. In addition, Mr. Yared has recently served as the Chairman of the AdvaMed Accel Board and he is currently the chairman of the AdvaMed Board of Directors.
Martin Jamieson • Non-Executive Director
After completing his early career in the pharmaceutical industry at Wyeth and 3M in a number of UK and European marketing executive roles, Mr Jamieson joined Smiths Medical – $1.5bn division of the FTSE 100 Smiths Group – as Managing Director of their Ostomy and Urology division. Over the next 16 years his took on increasingly senior Managing Director roles, finally as Managing Director Smiths Medical International. During this period he gained extensive experience in the key international markets, company and distributor acquisitions and organisational development. Latterly Mr Jamieson was Group CEO of Rayner Surgical, a globally based ophthalmic company noted for developing and manufacturing the first intraocular lens. Martin currently works with a number of private equity houses and is a Non-Executive Director of a large NHS Foundation Trust Hospital where he chairs the Audit Committee.
Elizabeth Usher, MBA • Non-Executive Director
Ms Usher has more than 20 years of experience in the medical device industry successfully developing and executing commercial strategies for profitable growth. She is currently the Chief Marketing, Sales, and Communications Officer for the College of American Pathologists (CAP) responsible for growing their global laboratory improvement business and advancing the specialty of pathologists in healthcare. Prior to joining CAP, she held executive leadership positions at GE Healthcare from 2003 to 2011 including Chief Marketing Officer, Surgery, responsible for global product marketing; VP General Manager, Molecular Imaging, responsible for sales and profits across Europe, Middle East, and Africa; and VP General Manager, International, Oncura, responsible for commercializing new therapeutic devices to treat prostate cancer. From 1997 to 2003, she held multiple commercial roles at Amersham Health (today part of GE Healthcare), developing and expanding their therapy business internationally. Throughout her career she has worked closely with surgeons, radiation oncologists, oncologists, pathologists, radiologists, and physicists around the world to develop products and procedures to improve patient care. She has an MBA in International Business from Thunderbird School of Global Management and a Bachelor of Science degree from Georgia Institute of Technology.
William (Bill) Allan, MBA • Non-Executive Director
Mr Allan is an internationally experienced medical devices senior executive and entrepreneur who has held a number of general management and global leadership positions with large multinational medical device companies including Stryker, Smith & Nephew, Angiodynamics, and Orthovita and is currently CEO of Vascular Flow Technologies. In addition he has been instrumental in the successful transition of three small medical device companies to exit. He has a strong track record of building businesses, developing and launching new products and has worked in Europe, Africa and North America. Educated at the University of Edinburgh, University of Cape Town and INSEAD Business School, Bill is a mentor at Cambridge University (Judge) Business School, and a Non-Executive Director at Otivio AS, a Norwegian medical device start-up, Eastern Area Academic Health Sciences Network and has been a council member of ABHI (Association of British Healthcare Industries). He is a member of the expert Advisory Board to Imperial Health Care Partners and is passionate about medical technology innovation and commercialization.
